WARNER BROTHERS INTERACTIVE ANNOUNCES SCRIBBLENAUTS SHOWDOWN TO ARRIVE IN MARCH

Fans of the puzzle-action series Scribblenauts should be happy to know that a new game is slotted for release soon, and it’s promised to expand even further on the puzzle-action and creativity.  I have to admit that I have a soft spot for games like this that can be used as an enjoyable medium for expanding vocabulary and imagination.  The graphics may seem childlike in nature because that is the core of its intended audience, but I can see this being something great and different for the whole family to play separate, to help each other out, or even to have a family face-off!

Some features the game has to offer include:

  • Showdown mode – This mode allows up to four players to siimultaneously in a card-game based strategy competition in ‘Wordy” mini games that require players to unleash the best object from their extensive dictionary of words (over 35,000 words) in order to outsmart their opponent, or “Speedy” mini games where players keep up with progress on a given map and the object is to see who makes it to the finish line first.
  • Versus mode – This section allows two players to go head-to-head in one of 25 different mini games which can also be enjoyed by a single player.  Players can continuously be switched out for endless enjoyment.
  • Sandbox mode – One to two players can challenge themselves with eight new levels by summoning almost whatever object their imagination summons, earning hidden Starites and other achievements along the way.

To further add to the entertainment one can either choose or customize their own Scribblenaut character, all of which are drawn in the classic Scribblenauts style.  Further personalization may to done through earning the Starites and achievements previously mentioned in order to personalize unique clothing and accessories.

Scribblenauts Showdown is set for release on March 6th for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
