It’s hard not to make the connection to Nintendo’s hit Splatoon with this new Square Enix game.
During the PlayStation Showcase, Square Enix announced FoamStars.
The game has a good comparison to Splatoon where you are using foam guns to paint the world around you different colors, as part of an online shooter style arcade game.
In this game, foam is the ultimate resource. It can be used in multiple ways: To create slippery surfaces that players can use to surf around the arena at high speed; to build terrain, helping players defend from enemy attacks or creating high vantage points to take out opponents; and finally, to foam up the opposition and win the match.
While it looks similar, it does make me happy. Splatoon is one of the most fun games I’ve ever played, and this game looks like similar amounts of fun. I can’t wait to get a chance to play it, and Square Enix said more details will be coming soon!
