To conclude the Sony State of Play, Square Enix unveiled the PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake called Intergrade. After the Sony State of Play concluded, though, the announcements from Square Enix didn’t conclude. The publisher continued to release more Final Fantasy VII news.
Square Enix has announced two new Final Fantasy VII games for mobile devices. One is a Battle Royal called Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier and the other is a mobile chapter-structured remake that will feature major events from the Final Fantasy VII story called “Ever Crisis“.
Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is a new mobile game that will release on iOS and Android in 2022. This game will allow players to re-live major moments from every game that’s ever released in the Final Fantasy story. That includes the mainline Final Fantasy VII story, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, and even the film Advent Children.
Below is a synopsis for Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis:
“FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS is a chapter-structured single player experience which will cover the whole of the FFVII timeline, including the events of the original game along with all the FFVII compilation titles, as well as new story elements, penned by FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE story and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima, surrounding the origins of SOLDIER.”
While Ever Crisis is a compilation of every major event in the entire Final Fantasy VII story, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is an entirely new concept. It’s a Battle Royal game set 30 years prior to the events Final Fantasy VII, where players fight to become the First Soldier. The game will feature abilities true to the Final Fantasy VII game, as well as summons like Ifrit.
FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER is a battle royal action game set in Midgar before the events of FINAL FANTASY VII. As a SOLDIER candidate, the player will make full use of their magic and abilities in a battle for their survival.
Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier will release on iOS and Android in 2021.
