A new Battle Royale is coming to PCs later in 2021. What sets it apart from other run-of-the-mill battle royale games is that players are vampires set in the world of Vampire: The Masquerade. More within.
Earlier this year, Paradox the developer behind Vampire: The Masquerade pulled development from the sequel away from Hardsuit Labs and delayed it indefinitely. Despite that, it still appears we’re getting a new Vampire: The Masquerade game, it’s just not an RPG that we’re used to.
Instead, the relatively new Swedish studio, Sharkmob has developed a battle royale set within the Vampire: The Masquerade world, a.k.a. Prague, called Bloodhunt. In it, you play as customizable vampire part of one of only three clans. Each clan has their own particular special ability with other abilities and buffs scattered throughout the city in the form of items and draining blood from civilians. Of course, as you might expect, the goal of Bloodhunt is to fight to be the last vampire standing.
A third person free-to-play Battle Royale experience set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, developed in close collaboration with the World of Darkness brand team. For the first time ever, experience the concept of vampires at war as sects clash in the city of Prague, triggered by the arrival of strike-teams from the Second Inquisition. Use your supernatural powers, weapons and wit to eradicate your enemies and deal with the hunters – all while you struggle to maintain the Masquerade.
While the cinematic trailer shows off the high-octane action you love to see for games such as this, what it doesn’t show is actual gameplay. However, players will be able to experience actual gameplay during a Closed Alpha test on July 2, 2021. Players can register for a chance to participate here.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt is set to release on Steam in late 2021.
