XSEED showed off upcoming titles during the Future Games Show, revealing previous titles getting Xbox and PlayStation ports, and more Rune Factory 5.
One of the developers I was looking forward to seeing during the Future Games Show was XSEED. I love the Rune Factory and Story of Seasons series, so I was eager to see what they had cooking, as well as updates on the long awaited Rune Factory 5.
The good news, for PlayStation and Xbox owners is that Rune Factory 4 Special (the remaster that initially launched on the Switch) as well as Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (also a Switch release) will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this Fall. So if you haven’t had a chance to play those yet, you’ll soon get the opportunity.
That’s good because you’ll need something to play while you continue to wait for Rune Factory 5. The sequel was announced a while back, initially slated to drop in 2020 and then pushed to 2021. Well, now it’s been pushed back again and won’t arrive until early 2022. Thankfully a new, English language, trailer arrived to help ease the blow:
Set off on a grand adventure in a fantasy world with the latest entry in the Rune Factory simulation RPG series. After losing their memory, the hero lands in a small town blessed by nature. There, they are recruited into a band of peacekeeping rangers, and their new life begins. In addition to their normal duties, the hero can farm the land, cast a line into the nearby river, and so much more! Team up with townsfolk to battle monsters and unleash powerful combination attacks—just one of the features new to the series. The stage is set, and the curtain rises on an exciting new adventure in Rune Factory 5!
