Free comic book day is this Saturday and you can get the first details for the story heading into Sony’s Spider-Man 2.
Sony announced via their blog that there will be a prequel comic released for the upcoming game this Saturday.
Saturday is free comic book day, so you can head to your nearest comic book store and get some free goodies. One of those comics will be a prequel comic to explain where Peter and Miles are in the story leading up to the second game for Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2.
You can pick up an issue physically at a local comic store, or you can download the Marvel Now app and pick it up for free digitally. The digital comic will also become free past this date at a later time.
In this story, their lives collide as Peter, Miles, and MJ attempt to balance their responsibilities to the city, and each other. They keep coming back to one of the main themes of the comic: is magic real? Because in this action-packed issue, a beloved Super Villain makes their first appearance in our universe and appears to have supernatural abilities that defy mere webs and fists: none other than The Hood!
Also announced is the stand alone edition of Spider-Man for PS5. The current only way to get the game was through the Miles Morales edition, but now you can buy the game stand alone for PS5. Users that already have the game on PS4 can upgrade to the PS5 edition for $10, while the game itself will cost $49.
This is exciting news because it’s the first details for the upcoming title since the teaser trailer we got a while ago. There are some rumors of a PlayStation event happening either later this month or in June, so we could be seeing a Spider-Man showcase real soon!
