Square Enix announced on Wednesday that a mobile spin-off of a popular RPG release is out today.
Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent takes place “a few years prior” to the events of Octopath Traveler, Square Enix said in a press release.
The game is out now on iOS and Android. The company said that as a thanks for the more than 700,00 pre-registrations for the game, all players will be able to claim a number of rewards including 5,000 Leaves, 16 Experience Nuts (M), 20 Gold Guidestones, 1 Pursuer’s Gloves I and 300 Rubies.

Square Enix said Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent utilizes a command-style battle system that allows players to use eight party members controlled by swipe controls for fact paced combat. There will be 64 characters available at launch and the company said that includes Tressa Colzione the merchant.
