A new, all to brief, trailer for Daedalic Entertainment’s The Lord of the Rings: Gollum game has arrived, offering a peek at gameplay.
Since being announced in 2019, we’ve only seen a couple short teasers for the upcoming game that puts you in the role of Gollum, including this new one. Somehow, neither of these trailers manage to break the one-minute run time.
I’m digging the trailer, and quick look at the stealth-centric gameplay the title will feature. In general, though, I’m still looking for a reason to pick this one up. I love Lord of the Rings, but I’m still not sold on the story concept behind this game. It’s been a couple years now, and with a delay to 2022, we’ve still got a ways to go. And yet, we haven’t seen anything (or enough of anything) to leave me actually excited to play see this story play out. I want to be excited, but these too short teases aren’t doing it for me.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a story-driven action adventure. Take on a perilous journey as Gollum, chasing the only thing that is precious to him. Gollum is skillful and cunning, but also torn by his split personality. One mind, two egos – you decide!
Gollum will hit consoles and PCs sometime in 2022.
