New gameplay footage has been revealed for AEW: Fight Forever at Gamescom 2022.
As Gamescom continues, one of the games highlighted was the highly anticipated AEW: Fight Forever, the upcoming first game for the fledgling All Elite Wrestling promotion. The ten-minute clip featured full match gameplay with the wrestlers on the panel controlling Kenny Omega and Adam Cole in the game.
You can see the clip for yourself below:
While AEW: Fight Forever is still very much in development, the gameplay revealed thus far looks incredible. What’s really exciting about this game is that the gameplay controls are relatively simple and you don’t have to immediately master a dozen combos to have a basic match. Granted, there do appear to be combos involved to implement certain advanced techniques (like finishing maneuvers), but for the basic match itself, the buttons involved are very simple. This is great as this will potentially tempt a number of gamers to try a wrestling game for the first time, as I’m sure many have avoided the genre over the years because of confusing gameplay issues.
The character models have come a long way as well. Kenny Omega and Adam Cole still look slightly cartoonish, but they’re definitely recognizable as themselves. This gameplay footage has definitely raised my hype levels for the game.
There’s no confirmed release date for AEW: Fight Forever but it is believed the game will release in late 2022 or early 2023.
