It’s no secret that the best thing going for Xbox right now is Xbox Game Pass. With an ever-growing, seemingly endless catalog of games and a reasonable subscription price, it’s one of the best bargains in gaming to date. So, you had to know that when Xbox announced that MLB The Show 21 would finally become a cross-platform title, it would also be joining Xbox Game Pass.
Today, Xbox confirmed those notions, via Xbox Wire. In the announcement, Xbox revealed that MLB The Show 21 will be available to play on Xbox Game Pass on launch day April 20, 2021. With it coming to Xbox Game Pass, MLB The Show 21 will be able to play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Android and Tablets via Xbox Cloud Gaming for Ultimate subscribers.
“As we said from the beginning, this is an incredible moment for all of us and bringing the franchise to more players and baseball fans is something that we at MLB, MLB Players, Inc., and Xbox are all excited about. We can’t wait for Xbox fans to experience the fastest, deepest, and most intense moment-to-moment baseball action yet. With pinpoint pitching, brand new fielding mechanics, and gameplay styles, Xbox gamers are in for a treat when MLB The Show 21 launches on April 20.” said Jamie Leece, MLB Senior Vice President, Games & VR.
MLB The Show 21 was a monumental get from the jump for Xbox and their players. Being developed by San Diego Studio, a studio that is owned by Sony and part of PlayStation Studios, it was practically the only sports IP out of reach of the green brand. Now, more people will get to experience one of the most immersive, beloved baseball series ever made, with the added convenience of being on Xbox Game Pass.
MLB The Show 21 launches on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and now on Xbox Game Pass on April 20, 2021.
