Jedi: Survivor, Final Fantasy VII, and Assassin’s Creed Get PS5 Pro Updates

The PlayStation 5 Pro arrives today, and some big games have revealed the updated enhancements players can take advantage of.

If you ended up getting a PlayStation 5 Pro today, you’ll be happy to know there are even more games making use of the upgraded hardware. Among those are three major titles getting brand new updates today, including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

  • The addition of Versatility Mode, developed specifically for PS5 Pro, which combines the characteristics of the existing Performance and Graphics modes.

    • Targets 60 FPS, similar to Performance mode

    • Uses PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) to optimize rendering and display a high resolution equivalent to Graphics Mode.

  • Utilizing the PS5 Pro’s High CPU Frequency Mode for a more stable framerate throughout the game.

  • Minor bug fixes and improvements to overall functionality and stability

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

  • Visibly higher base resolutions in both Quality and Performance modes.

  • Quality mode retains a 4K resolution and ray-traced elements but is now upscaled from 1800p to 2160p

  • Performance mode now runs at a higher resolution of 1800p (upscaled from 1200p) and includes raytraced occlusion and reflections while continuing to target 60 fps.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

  • 4K 60 FPS with PSSR as an upsampling algorithm, for more faithful 4K details at 60 FPS.
  • ‘Quality Mode’ is now the default setting at 60 FPS (vs 30 FPS for the classic PS5 version).
  • Generally improved graphics, with better shadows and reflection fidelity, higher texture resolution, and generally improved draw distance (quality, details).
