It’s now the Year of the Gryphon and players will heading into the Barrens. To celebrate the next milestone in the game, players can login to Hearthstone to receive a free legendary: Shadow Hunter Val’jin. Another new legendary is Blademaster Samuro, who will feature a new mechanic called Frenzy.

Huge news is the reveal of Hearthstone: Mercenaries, a new way to play with your favorite heroes in an RPG format. Heroes and villains available to play with include Sylvanas, Ragnaros and fan favorites like the Devilsaur and Gruul the Dragonslayer.

Today’s event revealed that players will be seeing the launch a (free) standard format shakeup called the Core Set featuring 235 cards including 29 new cards.
Three legendary dragons will be seeing a rework: Ysera, Malygos and Deathwing.
The Core set is the biggest shake-up yet coming to Standard format!
