Get to Know the Classes in the New Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier Trailer

Sometime this year, the first ever Final Fantasy Battle Royale game, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, will release on iOS and Android. Until now, we’ve seen some cinematics and gameplay, showcasing a lot of the abilities and high octane combat that’s in store.

In the latest trailer from TGS 2021, Square Enix formally introduced the classes and a few of their special abilities. They even introduced a new class that would make Yuffie proud.

To recap the trailer, below are the classes and their abilities in Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier:

Warrior – specializes in close-ranged melee attacks.

Sorcerer – mid-ranged AoE attacks is this Style’s specialty; their basic magic spells Fire, Blizzard and Thunder are powered up.

Monk – high-vitality Style, who has self-healing and shield abilities.

Ranger – skilled in seeking out enemies and sniping them from afar.

Ninja – Abilities with the Ninja style include: “Hide” – where players can turn themselves invisible for a certain amount of time, and “Flurry” – where players can throw their Kunai dagger and teleport to wherever it hits. They also have a double jump and can throw shurikens.

Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier’s gameplay looks like what you’d expect to see from a quality mobile game. Although, it’s looking like this mobile game will have quite the impact on the lore of Final Fantasy VII. For instance we see Hojo and even before we’ve seen President Shinra. There were even some who surmised that the silver haired soldier was the infamous Sephiroth. However, the developers were quick to debunk that idea. Nevertheless, it could provide a lot of backstory and context for the legendary story that comes after.

While it may not come out for console or PC for a long time, if ever, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier will offer controller support to any controllers that you connect to your mobile device.

Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is planned to release in November 2021 on iOS and Android, but they were clear to say ”planned”. So that could change. Pre-registration is still set for this month.
