In just 4 weeks, Square Enix will release Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the PlayStation 5 version of last year’s epic remake. On the same day that Intergrade releases, the new Yuffie episode, INTERmission, will also debut as a separately purchased DLC.
To celebrate its upcoming June 10 release, Square Enix launched the Final Trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade that shows off new footage from both the main game and the DLC.
There’s a lot to unpack with this Final Trailer. For starters, this trailer clearly was running at 60fps because I don’t remember Final Fantasy VII Remake running that smoothly. Furthermore, the new footage from INTERmission looks absolutely insane. We knew we’d be taking on Nero, that much was clear from the initial trailer for the DLC. However, I didn’t imagine we’d also be going toe-to-toe with Shinra’s Director of Advanced Weaponry Division, Scarlet.
What really got me saying, “NO WAY”, though were the two other reveals shown in the Final Trailer. First, the new summon materia Ramuh. The Lord of Levin has never looked as good as he does now in Intergrade. This lightning user has a wicked limit break that puts some of the others to shame.
The second shocking reveal was the Fort Condor mini-game. I never saw it coming. Fort Condor is a place you visit after you leave Midgar in the original Final Fantasy VII game. The mini-game that is shown is an elevated version of the one from the original game. However, the one in the original is a real battle. I had just assumed that we wouldn’t get to experience the Fort Condor mini-game until Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, but it looks as if Square Enix is going to let us get some practice reps in.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade releases on PlayStation 5 on June 10, 2021. Players who already own the PlayStation 4 version of the game will be able to upgrade for free and transfer over their existing save files to the next-gen version.
In addition to the final trailer for the mainline PS5 game, Square Enix also announced that pre-registration for the mobile Battle Royale, Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier Beta has opened and will remain open until May 28, 2021. Players can register to take part in the Closed Beta from June 1 to June 7, 2021. Click here to sign up.
In FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER, players will embark on an intense battle royale experience where they must fight to be the last SOLDIER standing. To do so, players will use magic and special abilities along with ranged and melee weapons to triumph on the battlefield. Players can choose between various styles, such as Warrior, Sorcerer or Monk, each of whom boast unique special abilities. In addition to other SOLDIER candidates, players must also contend with ferocious monsters who inhabit the outskirts of the city. By defeating them, players can gain experience needed to level up and unlock new weapons. Classic FINAL FANTASY elements abound in the game, such as rideable chocobos, powerful espers, including Ifrit, to summon and materia, which enables players to cast devastating spells. Players can customize their characters’ outfits and accessories, obtain various weapon and vehicle skins, emotes and more to create their own unique SOLDIER.
