The Far Cry series has been a long-time favorite of mine, but I felt the game was getting away from its more tropical roots. This year, Far Cry 6 is looking to bring back much of the classic Far Cry feel with its new setting, Yara.
The tropical island of Yara has been long but forgot and now is run by the tyrant Anton Castillo, played by the amazing Giancarlo Esposito. President Castillo is not only taking whatever means necessary to make Yara a powerful country, but he is also imposing law across this nation in the most horrifying ways.
In the gameplay reveal, Ubisoft showcased several methods of taking down enemies, crafting weapons, and bringing hope to the people of Yara. The game’s main goal seems to be taking down Castillo and getting off the island of Yara, but we all know how FarCry games are. Depending on your choices in the game, your story and goals could change drastically by the end of your playthrough.
It was also announced that the game will be releasing at a much earlier date than we thought, October 7th! This is huge news for fans of the series and we here at Cinelinx can’t wait to share our thoughts on the game! Check back soon for more reviews, gaming news, and all things geek!
