Xbox’s E3 2021 showcase gave fans a new look at Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes as well as revealing a companion game coming next year.
The bad news, JRPG fans, is that you have to wait until 2023 to play Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, the upcoming game from the creator behind the beloved Suikoden games. The good news, however, is that it looks pretty damn incredible AND you’re getting a prequel game to next year:
Featuring a traditional 6-character battle system utilizing painstakingly created 2D sprites and gorgeous 3D backgrounds. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a celebration of the JRPG genre readily associated with studio lead Yoshitaka Murayama (Suikoden I & II) and director Osamu Komuta. Eiyuden Chronicles is both a throwback to the classic JRPG games that have entertained millions and a modern, exciting tale of discovery and adventure featuring a cast of hundreds of fully realized characters.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a companion game that’s set to launch on Xbox Game Pass in 2022. It serves as a prequel to the main game and will be an action-RPG with the ability to build up your own town and meet heroes before playing them in the primary game.
