Today, Electronic Arts Inc. and EA SPORTS revealed the cover star for their upcoming mega football title Madden 24. Josh Allen, quarterback for the Buffalo Bills has been announced as this year’s cover star. For those that don’t know, Josh Allen has been in the NFL for just five seasons and broke the record for Most Touchdowns (177), is a very dynamic quarterback in tough situations, and now has become the first Bills player ever to land the cover of Madden NFL.
It was also announced that not only will the game be released on August 18th, but Madden 24 will launch with some new gameplay technology to make the game feel more realistic. This new technology is called SAPIEN and is set to deliver a gigantic leap forward in gameplay realism! EA Sports had this to say about this tech;
Sapien rebuilds the character skeleton providing more body definition and variation to on-field physiques. SAPIEN makes characters more human and anatomically correct, improving authentic athletic motion, and with FieldSENSE, creates true-to-life movement patterns on the field.
This tech is something that fans will appreciate, I am not the biggest Madden player, but I do play it every year and Madden 23 just didn’t feel right to me. Though the game was good, the overall player movement just felt off.
In playing a fast-paced sport like football, especially in the simulated world, these characters must be smooth-flowing and as realistic as possible. The smallest glitch, lag, or strange body movement can make any player off their game and cause a critical error in the game.
Overall it seems like, as always, EA has truly listened to their fan base and is improving the world and gameplay for all. Below are the other gameplay details released by EA that will keep us all playing for months! Check back here over these next few months to learn more about Madden 24 before its release on August 18th!
