E3 Joins Forces with PAX, Star Wars Celebration Event Production Company for 2023 Show

E3 has plans to return next summer and is joining forces with a production company known for premiere gaming events around the country.

E3 2023 is planned to return in June and organizers said they are ready to “welcome back publishers, developers, journalists, content creators, manufacturers, buyers, and licensors.”

“We are thrilled to bring back E3 as an in-person event with ReedPop, a global leader in producing pop culture events,.” Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of the Entertainment Software Association, said. “The past three years have confirmed that E3 convenes our industry like no other event. ReedPop brings world-class talent and a keen understanding of the video game industry, which will serve to enhance the E3 experience for years to come.”

Reedpop, the organizers for PAX, New York Comic Con and Star Wars Celebration have added E3 to their production lineup, the ESA said in a press release on Thursday.

“It is a tremendous honor and privilege for ReedPop to take on the responsibility of bringing E3 back in 2023,” said Lance Fensterman, President of ReedPop. “With the support and endorsement of the ESA, we’re going to build a world class event to serve the global gaming industry in new and broader ways than we already do at ReedPop through our portfolio of world leading events and web sites.”

E3 will attempt to return to form under the production company after three tumultuous summers that saw only a single E3 take place. Summer Game Fest, helmed by Geoff Keighley, has grown each year since its premiere in 2020 and will pose an interesting look at how the industry has evolved since E3 tumbled in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

ReedPop taking over production bodes well, though, with a great resume of events to draw from. I’m interested to see how the show transforms and if it takes an even greater stride towards being the consumer show the event had been inching towards for the last five years or so.
