After a smashing demo in 2020, Party Animals is finally launching this fall.
Recreate Games took part in Summer Game Fest to announce Party Animals in all its co-op brawler-y glory is hitting PC and Xbox consoles on September 20. The game will cost $20 and offer cross-platform support
“This is our first time developing a game, and we underestimated the time it would take to fix the bugs,” Zixiong Luo, Producer & CEO of Recreate Games, says in a press release. “Additionally, some necessary approval processes took longer than we planned. We are just as eager as fans to see Party Animals launch, and we want to ensure it’s as polished and bug-free as possible first.
Without the partner platform approvals, they cannot set up servers and sell the game in certain regions, the press release says. The studio noted there will be “at least two full-interface and full-volume stress tests” ahead of the September launch.
“Recreate Games promise the new launch date is precise and accurate, and they guarantee it will not be postponed again,” the press release (boldly) says. “It’s safe to start planning your Party Animals launch party!”
The game features its own unique physics engine that will “lead to seemingly haphazard, floppy, unpredictable, and hilarious encounters” in a variety of local and online player game modes and maps, including free-for-all skirmishes and objective-based gameplay. There will be more than 100 cosmetic items available unlockable using both in-game and IRL currencies.
