As part of their N7 Day celebrations, Bioware has revealed that the next chapter in the beloved Sci-Fi RPG franchise is already in development.
If you weren’t excited enough over getting the Mass Effect trilogy remastered in the Legendary Edition, then you’ll be happy to hear a new game in the franchise is already in the works. While details are scarce (nearly non-existent), Bioware confirmed the development:
A veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe. We are in early stages on the project and can’t say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we’ll be going next.
No idea who comprises the “veteran team” but it’s exciting to know the franchise isn’t dead after Andromeda failed to impress all around. While I enjoyed it for what it was, it still fell short of the greatness from the previous games.
As such, I’ll be interested to see where this new game goes. Will they continue the Andromeda storyline, or come back to our own universe? Lots of possibilities and I hope we learn about it sooner rather than later!
