Dark Horse to Release English Translation of Post-Apocalyptic Graphic Novel ‘Yojimbot’

Fans of post-apocalyptic fiction will want to take note of this upcoming graphic novel from Dark Horse Books.

It was announced today that Dark Horse Books will be releasing an English translation of Sylvain Repos’ graphic novel Yojimbot for the first time this December. Yojimbot Volume 1: Metal Silence will be released by Dark Horse on December 4, 2024 and is available now for pre-order.

Yojimbot is set in a future where the world is ruled by robots, including a group of robots who have taken to re-enacting the samurai of old, so-called Yojimbots (presumably a play on the word ‘yojimbo’ meaning bodyguard). Sylvain Repos was the primary writer and artist for this book while Noiry served as the colorist.

Yojimbot Volume 1: Metal Silence is described as follows:

While attempting to flee a robot-inhabited island, Hideo and his son Hiro are attacked by a troop of armored humans. When Hideo sacrifices himself to save his son, a lone robot-samurai, called a Yojimbot, stands between Hiro and his death. Throughout their journey to escape the island, the robot-and-child duo are joined by other Yojimbots willing to protect Hiro against the hazards of the ruined island to find the mysterious “rights holder” who may hold the key to Hiro’s safety. But more dangerous foes lie between Hiro and his freedom…

Yojimbot Vol. 1 will be available from Dark Horse on December 4, 2024.
