Dark Horse to Release ‘Critical Role: The Chronicles of Exandria- The Mighty Nein Part Two’

The next volume in Critical Role’s acclaimed art book series is coming later this year.

To the joy of Critters everywhere, Dark Horse and Critical Role have announced that Critical Role: The Chronicles of Exandria—The Mighty Nein Part Two is being released on November 26, 2024.

For those not familiar, The Chronicles of Exandria are a series of art books full of lore, narrative snippets, and most importantly, hundreds of pages of fan art depicting many moments throughout the campaign. The book was overseen by Critical Role’s lore keeper Dani Carr along with input from Matthew Mercer and the main cast of Critical Role.

This will be the second volume focusing on The Mighty Nein, the focus of Critical Role’s second campaign. The book is said to pick up with The Mighty Nein’s adventures in Xhorhas and continue on towards the latter half of the campaign. It’s not clear if this book will fully cover the second half of the campaign as Campaign 2 stretched far longer than Critical Role’s first campaign.

The book is officially summarized as follows:

The saga of Exandria’s famous adventurers continues in this second collection of art, narrative, and lore from the cast of Critical Role as well as the Critter community! The Chronicles of Exandria–The Mighty Nein Part Two follows Critical Role’s Mighty Nein campaign from their adventures in Xhorhas, to encounters with the Kryn and the Bright Queen, to discoveries at the Cinderrest Sanctum and in the belly of a behemoth, all the way to events at the Whitedawn Lagoon and beyond.

For those curious to learn more before November, there are two volumes devoted to the adventures of Vox Machina and one volume already published for The Mighty Nein and all three can be accessed on Critical Role’s official shop and other book retailers.

(note: specifically the two Vox Machina volumes can be found on Critical Role’s shop at the moment)

Critical Role: The Chronicles of Exandria—The Mighty Nein Part Two comes out on November 26, 2024.
