If you’ve been wanting a different PS4 controller, one that can be tailored to you needs and specific playstyle, Razer has you covered. The company responsible for creating some of the best gamer gear around has debuted their own version of the PlayStation controller, with eSports in mind. Though, even if you aren’t doing any gaming competition, something tells me you’ll love the Raiju controller anyway:
Razer, a leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, today announced the release of the Razer Raiju controller for PlayStation®4 designed for esports.
Designed for esports professionals to participate in tournament level gameplay on PS4â„¢, the Razer Raiju is equipped with advanced controller customisation and ergonomics proven to give esports athletes an edge.
The Razer Raiju is the result of a partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (SIEE), and further benefited from close collaboration with esports athletes who put prototypes through their paces. As a result the officially licensed controller works seamlessly with all PS4 systems and delivers tournament-grade performance.
The Razer Raiju features two unique fully-programmable multi-function bumpers and triggers. These triggers, bumpers and action buttons all utilise Razer’s proprietary Hyperesponse™ mechanical switch technology, delivering precise actuation and tactile response.
Positioned to best allow fingertip access, each bumper at the shoulders and removable triggers on the underside can be individually set using the button remapping function. Offering the ability to freestyle configurations, players get to decide exactly how to use their gaming weapon and dominate opponents.
The controller is also armed with mechanical trigger stop switches and a hair trigger mode, making it possible to switch between or combine modes to unleash ultra-fast activations.
The Razer Raiju’s esports optimised yet familiar form factor, balanced weight and in-mold grips provide a comfortable fit, allowing hours of uninterrupted play. These features are a direct result of the feedback from top PS4 esports athletes including Tyler “FeLonY” Johnson and Brice “Faccento” Faccento , former Team eLevate (Call of Duty) members.
The four-button Quick Control Panel of the Razer Raiju provides easy access to a variety of functions. From toggling between two customisable profiles to muting the mic and adjusting game volume, users need not take their hands off the controller. At the base of the panel is the universal 3.5 mm audio port for stereo audio output and microphone input.
For low-latency gameplay, critical for winning tournaments, the Razer Raiju features a lightweight braided cable with a detachable Micro-USB connector. For easy storage and transportation, the controller comes bundled with a premium carrying case to keep it protected during travel.
