Star Wars: The High Republic was well represented at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022 yesterday with a star-studded panel led by The High Republic Show host Krystina Arielle! On the docket was a slew of announcements, insights, and reveals for the upcoming second phase of the publishing initiative called QUEST OF THE JEDI!
Previously revealed, Phase II will take us back many years prior to the events in Phase I, 150 to be exact, transporting us to a time well before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, or most anything else recognizable. On hand were authors/architects Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older, Cavan Scott, Charles Soule, Lucasfilm Publishing head honcho Michael Siglain, and Lucasfilm’s SVP, franchise and content strategy, James Waugh.
With a mixed roster of both new and returning storytellers, we got cover reveals and details for titles such as Convergence by Zoriada Cordova, Quest of the Hidden City by George Mann, Cataclysm by Lydia Kang, the middle grade novel Quest for Planet X by Tessa Gratton, and the YA novel Path of Vengeance by Cavan Scott. For the comic book fans, we got first looks at upcoming titles such as the Dark Horse miniseries The Nameless Terror by George Mann (Art by Eduardo Mello and Ornella Savarese), and the first issue of the new run of Marvel’s Star Wars: The High Republic by Cavan Scott, with art from Ario Anindito. And not to be outworked and like his good buddy Scott, Mann is also contributing anther audio original, The Battle of Jedha, which is coming January 2023, to be followed by a printed script version shortly after.
