Star Wars Day 2024: A Gift Guide to the Force

May the Fourth is nearly upon us, and that means oodles of cool stuff for Star Wars fans to track down. Here, I’m spotlighting some of my favorites to help others celebrate!

This year, I’m back with even more Star Wars Day goodies for fans to be on the lookout for as we all celebrate this special holiday. While I previously stuck to some of the more “oddball” kind of collectibles last year, this time around I’m taking a more traditional gift guide approach. Mostly because there’s just SO MUCH awesome stuff to highlight, especially with The Phantom Menace anniversary this time around!

And yes, there will be quite a bit of Phantom Menace stuff on this list because I’m sticking with items that caught my attention.

Toys

Of course, one of the best ways to celebrate your love of Star Wars are the toys! Everything from action figures, to LEGO sets, Funko’s, and role-play items, there’s no shortage of neat toys to find:

Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator ($69.99) – LEGO has a ton of sweet sets available during May 4th this year, but as a Maul collector, I definitely need to pick up this new version of the Sith Infiltrator. A smidge smaller than previous releases, it matches up with the latest line of ships/vehicles they’ve released in this anniversary line, so it’ll look nice and neat on your shelves for display.

Retro Collection Star Wars: The Phantom Menace Multipack ($59.99) – This Target exclusive finally brings some Prequel characters to Hasbro’s popular Retro series line; recreating the figures in a style more reminiscent of the original 70/80s toys. What’s funny is, the actual Phantom Menace toy line is older than the original toys were when Episode I first released! Wild to think, but the set still manages to hit that nostalgia just right.

Micro Galaxy Squadron – I try to be specific when I can, but the truth is, everything in the Micro Galaxy Squadron line from Jazwares is amazing. You’ve likely already seen these up on the shelves over the last couple years, but they’ve essentially brought back the old “Action Fleet”/Micro Machine scale ships/characters.

They have a ton of great vehicles available, ranging from the massive AT-AT, to the tinier speeder bikes. With great detail that allows for display value on top of playing with them, I’ve found myself obsessed with tracking them down. The latest wave is starting to hit shelves, but I suggest heading to Target to pick up their two new exclusives from The Phantom Menace: the Gungan Bongo and N-1 fighter.

The Last Command Black Series 4-Pack ($89.99) – I’ve tried to stick with items that you can actually pick up to celebrate Star Wars Day, but I couldn’t leave this off the list. I’m so thrilled Hasbro is still giving us new toys based on some of the old Legends material, and this recently revealed 4-Pack, based on Timothy Zahn’s final book in the original Thrawn trilogy, is all kinds of amazing.

TIE Interceptor – Yes, I’m doubling up on LEGO here, but it feels wrong to leave their new UCS TIE Interceptor off the list. The impressive, nearly 2,000 piece build is currently available now for LEGO Insiders, with EVERYONE getting the chance to buy on right on Star Wars Day (May 4th). Definitely a solid way to spend the holiday.

Darth Revan Replica Helmet – This kinda popped up out of nowhere recently on GameStop, where it’s currently available for pre-order. While it isn’t part of Hasbro’s higher-end replica helmets, Jazwares new helmet is definitely something gamers/collectors are going to want to snag.

Star Wars: Rebels – Grand Admiral Thrawn (on Throne) Premier Collection Statue – The newest collectible statue from Gentle Giant/Diamond Select Toys brings the iconic Grand Admiral into your homes in stunning detail. They were kind enough to send one my way a little bit ago and it’s ridiculously impressive. With a sturdy/solid base and intricate details (even considering the animated stylings), this is a must have for Thrawn fans.

This statue is in stock and on sale right now through Gentle Giant, but limited to 1,000 pieces. So get on it quick.

Style

I’m probably the last person who should talk to you about fashion/style. As such, some of these picks may seem odd, but I love that they exist nonetheless!

Darth Maul Socks from Rock ’em Socks – These aren’t exactly the best looking socks in the world, but they are certainly eye-catching! I mean, they’re Darth Maul socks! What more do you need?

Little Sleepies Pajamas – Little Sleepies has a few Star Wars themed PJs for all ages, and I can attest to how ridiculously comfortable they are. Just the past month they released an all new print for their collection, called Legends of the Galaxy. So if you were looking for an excuse to snag some comfy pajamas, here it is.

RSVLT – I love the RSVLT shirts/apparel. In fact, one of the few Star Wars Day things I bought for myself last year was one of their shirts. They manage to take geeky stuff, and make it look sleek/fashionable. Combine that with some high quality materials, and it’s tough to beat if you’re looking for something swanky, but still showing off your nerd pride.

Their most recent design is all about the Dark Side. This Phantom Menace inspired look, in particular, has been calling my name.

Loungfly – Loungefly (from Funko) always has a plethora of awesome Star Wars designs spanning the entire saga. Everything from wallets, crossbody bags, purse/backpacks, and more there are several new designs for pretty much any style you’re going for. Take a look at some of their sale items as well, where you can snag whole backpacks (even a High Republic one) for under $30!

Sackcloth & Ashes Blankets – Cool looking blankets that also provide homeless shelters with one for every purchase, plus a company that frequently works with indigenous people for designs? Yeah, go ahead and mark me down for these.

Pair Eyewear Star Wars Collection – If you need some Star Wars flair to go with your glasses, Pair Eyewear has launched a new collection of Star Wars “tops.” These snap onto their individual base frames, so you could buy several styles (all for $30 each) and swap them out whenever you want!

Miscellany

Nanoleaf Lines & Baby Gu (Dark Side) Bundle – Last Star Wars Day, Nanoleaf revealed a Baby Gu bundle for their light-up tiles. These allowed fans to decorate their nerdy spaces in a fancy/modern way, while still having some Star Wars flare. These are still available this year, but they’ve also added a new Dark Side themed addition with the inclusion of all new Ultra Black light panels.

They’ve also launched Nanoleaf Lines (starting at $99.99); modular light bars which similarly deck out your space, but happen to resemble Lightsabers.

16M color combinations means there’s a color for you no matter what side of the force you’re on. Both products sync with gaming peripherals from CORSAIR and Razer for even more immersive light shows. They also work with the major smart home platforms, so connectivity is never an issue.

On top of that, Nanoleaf will have pre-set light and dark side scenes to transform rooms and spaces for existing customers. So if you got some last year, you can still enjoy something new with them!

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor on 4K Ultra HD – Physical media is always the way to go and something Star Wars fans have always had an affinity for. Just ahead of May the Fourth, Lucasfilm brought Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor (Season One) to 4K Ultra HD…and they’re amazing. Adding new Star Wars discs to your shelves is always a great way to celebrate the holiday!

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi: A Visual Archive – Coming from authors Kelly Knox, Clayton Sandell, and S.T. Bende, this ROTJ Visual Archive just launched a couple weeks ago and is an absolute must have for fans of the Saga. It’s a massive TOME, featuring in depth looks behind the scenes of the classic film with tons of inserts (booklets, gatefolds, etc) that collectors will absolutely gobble up.

Insight Editions always does an incredible job with their coffee table books, and this is no exception. Even better, they’re having a sale on Star Wars items when you purchase directly from their site (sale runs Fri, May 3, 12:00 AM PT – Mon, May 6, 11:59 PM PT) with all Star Wars products 40% off!

Darth Maul Special Edition Displate – The metal poster afficianados at Displate have plenty of May the 4th goodies for fans. On top of an all new, limited edition Darth Maul poster, they have a new collection dropping on May 1st, AND between May 1st through May 5th is offering 35% off all Star Wars designs you purchase. So if you’re looking for some wall art to celebrate this year, definitely jump on this.

Rebel Alliance Spatula with Sound – For reasons unknown, I’ve always been fascinated by Star Wars-themed kitchen items. They’re just…neat, and these days there are tons to choose from. A more recent addition is this Rebel Alliance spatula you can snag from Hallmark, that even has sound effects to go with it!

This is obviously just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to awesome Star Wars stuff to pick up for May the Fourth (or in the near future). But these are the ones that stand out most to me and might help you in your own searching this year.
