Star Wars Day 2023 is upon us. May the Fourth brings numerous ways for fans to show their love and I’ve rounded up some fun, non-traditional ones, for you to enjoy!
I love Star Wars. I don’t think there’s any disputing that and it’s been very well documented over the years. Hell, LOTS of people of Star Wars, but there’s a good chance not all of them want their living spaces decked out with toys and such. Perhaps they want something more low-key, or want options that allow them to embrace their nerdy side even if they aren’t into typical toys/collectibles.
If that sounds like you…I’m here to help. Below, I’ve rounded up some “off the beaten path” Star Wars goodies available this May the Fourth so you can show your love of the Saga in your own special way:
Homesick Candles
Last year, Homesick launched a set of Star Wars-themed candles and they were pretty damn great. They’re back at it again this year, and have put the focus on The Mandalorian this time around for their new scents:
The Bounty – Winds whirl with sand as notes of ash and smoke reveal dark intentions on Nevarro. Lavender and the scent of deep woods forge an unbreakable bond in this inspiring forest escape.
The Rescue – Sea moss cradles a crash landing in Trask. A new warrior brings hope, cutting through smoky oud from desolate swamps. Mountain air refreshes his resolve in this vital mission.
They were kind enough to actually send the new set my way, and I have to say, they smell amazing. I’m not exactly sure what all goes into creating a scent around a fictional character/location, but whatever they do, it works. On top of filling the house with great smells, the full artwork on the packaging is a nice touch that makes them perfect for collectors.
Both new Star Wars candles are available now directly from Homesick.

If you’re looking to show your fandom alongside your animal buddy, Chewy (no, not the Wookiee) is here to help you out. Board Games
What’s great about the more recent deluge of Star Wars tabletop games, is that it’s something you can do with pretty much anyone. Even if someone isn’t a big fan, it’s not an inhibitor to enjoying a great game with friends. It’s a fun way to enjoy the thing you love, with people you like, regardless of their level of interest in the overall franchise.
I’ve had the good fortune to check out a few recent ones of the past year, and think these would make excellent game night choices for Star Wars Day:
Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game -This is my personal favorite at the moment. It brings the old-school feel of the classic CCG to a modern (and easier to get into) setting. Tons of fun.
Jabba’s Palace -I like this one mostly because it’s taking on the rules of an already released/familiar game, Love Letter. It’s a quick and fast game to get into, and since it’s built on another game’s rules, anyone can have fun playing, even if they aren’t a Star Wars fan.
Star Wars UNLOCK – UNLOCK is another fun one for people to play (especially in a group) regardless of their interest in Star Wars. Built more like an escape room-style game, you have to use teamwork and smarts to solve the puzzles, so everyone can enjoy the experience.
Geek Tikis
For some reason, I absolutely love getting Star Wars related kitchen stuff. For a long period of time, I actually stopped collecting any of the toys and switched entirely to household related stuff. Now, however, there’s so many more cool options for people to pick up.
I like these kind of things as they can be used practically, while also being somewhat unique. Yes, they’re Star Wars themed, but done in a different style that can fit a completely new aesthetic if needed.
Beeline has a whole BUNCH of Star Wars items, ranging from punch bowls, tikis, and even coasters. They’re all neat in their own way, with enough characters that any collector is sure to find their favorite (yes, I have the Darth Maul one). Skim through their whole line, but for Star Wars Day they’re also launching a new limited edition line (pictured) to pick up.
Nanoleaf Lights
This may not exactly come off as less nerdy than other options, but I think these things are pretty darn cool. Nanoleaf specializes in customizable lighting for your spaces, specifically for gamers. Their panels/rods can be connected in a variety of ways to let you light up your office space any way you choose. The lights can also be connected to your monitor and adjust to whatever is being displayed, offering a bit more immersion/ambience when you’re playing.
For Star Wars Day, they’ve revealed a new ‘Baby Gu’ bundle (both large and small), and they just so happy to be on sale! The small version is the “Big” bundle is currently available for $579.96 (previously about $740), with the small bundle hitting at $230 (normally $300).
It’s a neat way to give your gaming space a little bit more oomph while also tying into your love of Star Wars. To learn more, pick these up, or check out their other lighting options, head to Nanoleaf’s official site.
There’s no shortage of awesome Star Wars stuff out in the world to pick up. I just thought these were some fun, off the beaten path, picks other fans may not have been as familiar with!
