Lucasfilm has revealed the major merchandise exclusives fans can pick up during Star Wars Celebration Japan next month!
If you needed even more FOMO regarding this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Japan, the official Star Wars site has revealed the various vendor exclusives attendees will be able to snag. I’ll let you take a gander at the full list over there, but I wanted to specifically highlight two of them.
Star Wars Visions is among my favorite Star Wars projects around, and the the lack of merchandise for the seasons has been painful. As such, I’m really excited to see them get some love at Celebration, even if I can’t be there to snag them.
First up, Hasbro is bringing a gorgeous new The Black Series two-pack to the event, featuring the Ronin and R5-D56. I love how it expertly recreates the black and white style from the anime short and retains the feel of the character’s design. Don’t get me wrong, I love how the Black Series typically gives cartoon/comic based figures the “live-action” treatment, but I can’t see that working as well for something like Visions. This will be available at Hasbro Booth (Hall 1, 3-7).
Next up, Jazwares is bringing an exclusive Micro Galaxy Squadron vehicle to the show, featuring Karre (from “The Twins”) and his X-wing. I’ve become absolutely addicted to these Micro Galaxy Squadron toys. I don’t know what it is about tiny collectibles, but I can’t help myself. It also helps that they bring a lot of great detail to each release while capturing that feel of the old-school MicroMachines/Action Fleet sets I grew up with.
Hopefully these exclusives are a sign of more Visions toys to come, especially with volume three set to hit later this year.
Star Wars Celebration Japan arrives next month, April 18-20th and we’ll have plenty of coverage from the event for you to follow along with.
