We’re nearing the end of the massive LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set, as part three takes us through the biggest section of the build!
I’m back for Part 3 of building LEGO’s ginormous Rivendell set (I’ve had to move previous sections off the table to have room to keep building). This kicks off the third, and final, instruction booklet for the set, which also happens to be the largest section of them all.
As with the previous sections, there are a ton of tiny details and fun construction that makes the experience all the more memorable. Moreso, this section brought really ingenious build mechanics that not only make the whole thing more stable, but find cool ways to hide the “seams.”
If you haven’t already, be sure to watch Part 1 and Part 2 of our build.
The closer I get to the end of this thing, the more impressed I am. The details are insane, but how they use familiar bricks/pieces in new ways is what makes the build so fun and the result satisfying. Sure, building out the roof shingles can be a bit tedious, but you can’t argue with how gorgeous it looks.
With only 9 more bags to go, we’ll definitely be wrapping up this build in Part 4 where I can share my full thoughts on the overall set…if I can find somewhere to put it. If you’re curious to learn more about the set, check out LEGO’s official site, where the set is still currently available for $499!
