Let’s Build LEGO’s Lord of the Rings: Rivendell Set | Part 2

We’re back with more “Playing With My Toys” action, as we continue our build of the massive LEGO Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set!

In Part 2 of my LEGO build, I’ve managed to get my way through the second (of three) instruction booklet and yet somehow, still shy of the halfway point in this entire build! It’s monstrous. Even so, with the first part behind me, I found myself far more relaxed and less daunted throughout this part of the build. The result is an even more enjoyable time and overall experience that highlights the joy these mega-sets can bring:

There’s so many tiny details in this section of the build, it’s hard to point out anything specific. I’m impressed with how the trees and foliage come together, but the intricate way they’ve crafted the “stonework” elements provide a natural feel you wouldn’t expect from a toy made of bricks.

It’s just impressive all around and I can’t believe there’s still so much to go! I’m literally running out of table space for it all, which is wild to me. I mean, it’s a big drawing/drafting table and seen it’s fair share of toys over the years for the site…but even it’s struggling for room at the moment.

Regardless, I’m having a blast and I know other toy collectors (don’t even have to be a Lord of the Rings fan) will as well. If you’re curious to learn more, check out LEGO’s official site, where the set is still currently available for $499!
