Latest Star Wars Toy Reveals Goes Back to Legends

The latest ‘Gift the Galaxy’ reveal from Hasbro is bringing fans all new collectibles based on classic novels, Heir to the Empire and Shadows of the Empire!

Some of the latest Star Wars toy reveals have been hit or miss for me (even though I’m a sucker and likely to pick them up anyway). Today, though, I’m over the moon at what Hasbro’s shown off as part of their weekly ‘Gift the Galaxy’ promo. We’re getting more Legends figures!

While Prince Xizor, from Shadows of the Empire, was announced earlier this year as a new Black Series figure, we have an all new two-pack to look forward to as part of that line as well.

STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES LUKE SKYWALKER (IMPERIAL GUARD) & PRINCESS LEIA ORGANA (BOUSHH) – $44.99

To gather intel on the Black Sun, Leia disguised herself as an Ubesian bounty hunter. But when Xizor captured her, it was up to Luke — alongside his friends and posing as an Imperial Guard — to rescue her. STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES includes 6-inch action figures, vehicles, and roleplay items from the 40-plus-year legacy of the STAR WARS galaxy, letting fans create galactic scenes with a faithfulness to STAR WARS comic books, movies, and series. This action figure set is detailed to look like Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia as they appear in STAR WARS: SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE – their first release since 1996. The Luke Skywalker figure includes a removable helmet and spear accessory. The Leia Organa figure comes with a Boushh helmet, staff, and pouch accessory. Display STAR WARS fandom on your shelf with packaging featuring character art and a sleek outer sleeve.

This Imperial Guard disguise Luke was among the first figures I had growing up in the 90s, when I began hanging onto my Star Wars toys as “collectibles” rather than just toys. Something about his look has always intrigued me (likely because it was so different from anything the movies had given us), and it makes my kid at heart soar to see it return.

It’s kind of a bummer to see the second figure is a re-pack,although the new Leia head-sculpt is impressive, but I’ll survive. Next up, we have a new Vintage Collection three-pack for Heir to the Empire:

STAR WARS: THE VINTAGE COLLECTION STAR WARS: HEIR TO THE EMPIRE FIGURE 3-PACK – $49.99

Five years after STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI, Grand Admiral Thrawn has taken command of the shattered Imperial fleet and pointed it at the fragile heart of the New Republic — threatening everything the Rebel Alliance fought so hard to build. Based on classic characters from STAR WARS: HEIR TO THE EMPIRE, these Captain Pellaeon, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Joruus C’baoth 3.75-inch action figures make great additions to any fan’s collection. Pose out your figures with the included blaster for Captain Pallaeon, unlit hilt, Lightsaber™, necklace, and Force lightning hand for Joruus, and blaster pistol for Thrawn. Display all three carded figures in the larger window box with publishing-inspired character designs Inspired by the original line, these collectibles feature premium detail and design across product and packaging, as well as collector-grade deco that fans have come to know and love.

We have a Captain Pellaeon figure!!! In 2025 we’re getting all new Pellaeon merch and it’s blowing my mind. Also, Joruus makes the jump to the smaller scale after getting a Black Series release earlier this year. Even better, I love that they’re using the old-school art style for the cardbacks rather than trying to make realistic images to go alongside them. Really completes that ‘Legends’ vibe overall.

Both of these releases are set to arrive in Spring 2025 and will be exclusive to Hasbro Pulse and Disney Stores (at a later date). Pre-orders on Hasbro Pulse kick-off tomorrow, December 11th at 1PM ET for Pulse Premium members, and 2PM ET for everyone else.
