Hasbro Reveals New Star Wars Toys Ahead of May the Fourth

Hasbro is celebrating Star Wars Day a little early by revealing a slew of new toys for fans to pre-order tomorrow.

What’s Star Wars Day without some new toys to look forward to?! While it’s a little bit early (in order to make sure pre-orders go live on the correct day), Hasbro revealed several new figures for fans to drool over for this year’s May the Fourth. During a special livestream this morning, the toy company revealed new figures for The Black Series line and Vintage Collection…along with a new premium helmet.

STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES AXE WOVES PREMIUM ELECTRONIC HELMET

(HASBRO/Ages 14 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $131.99/Available: Winter 2023)

A skilled warrior and privateer, Axe Woves travels the galaxy as a Mandalorian mercenary. STAR WARS fans and collectors can imagine scenes from the biggest battles and missions in the STAR WARS galaxy with this premium roleplay, AXE WOVES PREMIUM ELECTRONIC HELMET, inspired by the STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN live-action series. Features premium deco, realistic detail, series-inspired design and drop-down rangefinder that activates with the press of a button, lighting up LEDs that flash in a “hunting” pattern as well as an LED-illuminated heads-up display. [Requires 1x AAA battery – not included]

Available for pre-order 5/4 at 1 pm ET at Hasbro Pulse, Amazon and additional fan channel retailers.

With that out of the way, let’s talk about the action figures! Black Series took the main focus during today’s stream and revealed some highly anticipated figures including Darth Malgus, a Magna Guard, a new General Greivous (battle damaged), a Phase II Clone Trooper, The Mandalorian based on his Book of Boba Fett appearance, and Ahsoka Tano from the earlier seasons of The Clone Wars.

On top of that they also revealed Chewbacca and Wicket, but these are the same sculpts from the Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary line, in the regular packaging. Malgus is set to drop this Fall, with Mando in Spring 2024, but all the rest are expected for Winter 2023.

Even better, these are all general releases with no retail exclusives and are available for pre-order 5/4 at 1 pm ET at Hasbro Pulse, Amazon and other major retailers.

On the smaller scale, Vintage Collection side, we’re getting the Grand Inquisitor (from his Kenobi appearance) along with a Luke Skywalker and Grogu two-pack this Fall. The coolest reveal, however, is the Wicket and Kneesaa two-pack coming in Spring 2024. Much like the Droids figures they did last year, these are done in the style and packaging from the old 80s cartoon.

It’s just neat. These figures are so difficult to track down and acquire, so having these repacks is a nice way to give something to collectors while still offering new stuff. I love it and wouldn’t be mad at seeing more of those older figures get an update.

As with the others, these new TVC figures will be up for pre-order tomorrow. Which of these are you most excited about picking up?
