Day two of Star Wars Celebration Europe brought Hasbro’s toy panel, in which they showcased a bunch of new toys across the Black Series and more!
Let me kick this off with some really good news. You may have seen this floating around earlier in collector circles…but Hasbro is bringing back the windowed boxes next year! They’re done with the windowless releases, but using a different, more sustainable, material. Considering I’m a collector who loves to display things in the box (but still see them) I’m stoked to see this quick turnaround.
Anyway, let’s talk about the toys they revealed during Star Wars Celebration! It’s quite a bit.
First up, ahead of their live panel, they revealed (via Nerdist) a new wave of The Bad Batch toys based on their season two appearances! All of these new Bad Batch figures will be Walmart exclusives, except for Omega. She’ll be widely available at all retailers. Sadly, you’ll have to wait until early 2024 before she comes in, while the others are set to launch this Fall.
Fans of Cad Bane also have a new Black Series figure to look forward to, one based on his live-action appearance in The Book of Boba Fett! This will be widely available in Spring 2024.
Let’s stick with the Black Series a little bit more shall we? During today’s live panel, Hasbro revealed even more Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary figures which will feature some new accessories and even sculpts on some of them! Featuring the same classic cardback design, Darth Vader (with removable helmet), Luke Skywalker, an Imperial Guard, and a newly designed R2-D2 will be available this Fall.
That’s not all Hasbro is doing for the ROTJ anniversary with the Black Series. They also have some beefier sets including a new Jabba the Hutt (with Salacious Crumb), the first time he’s been available in this scale in years. This one will be a Shop Disney and HasbroPulse exclusive when it launches in the Fall:
STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES JABBA THE HUTT & SALACIOUS B. CRUMB ($89.99)
Jabba the Hutt was one of the galaxy’s most powerful gangsters, with far-reaching influence in both politics and the criminal underworld. Commemorate the 40th Anniversary of STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI with this STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES JABBA THE HUTT & SALACIOUS B. two-pack, featuring classic design and packaging! These premium 6-inch-scale figures are inspired by the characters’ appearances in Jabba the Hutt’s throne room in STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI. Fans can display this figure which features premium detail, multiple points of articulation in their collections. Includes 2 figures, railing and pipe entertainment-inspired accessories.
This next one is my personal favorite, as it allows fans to recreated the Return of the Jedi Force Ghost ending for the first time in this scale. That’s right, we’re finally getting a Force Ghost Anakin Skywalker in the Black Series! This will also be a Shop Disney/HasbroPulse exclusive and is set to arrive this Summer:
STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES FORCE SPIRITS ($77.99)
Commemorate the 40th Anniversary of STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI with this STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES FORCE SPIRITS three-pack, featuring classic design and packaging! These premium 6-inch-scale figures are inspired by the iconic moment in STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI, when Luke Skywalker witnesses the Force Spirits of the people who shaped him: Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda. Fans can display this figure which features premium detail, multiple points of articulation in their collections. Includes 3 figures.
For fans of the Vintage Collection, 3.75 inch figures, there was plenty to be excited about as well. The newly revealed figures included: Black Krrsantan (from Book of Boba Fett appearance), Moff Jerjerrod, Nien Nunb, and a new multi-pack that brings together numerous figures from Jabba’s court!
The pipeline reveals for the Vintage Collection were pretty impressive as well. Hasbro teased that new figures being worked on for the TVC line include the Grand Inquisitor, Thrawn, Krennic, and even Darth Revan! Even better, Mando fans/TVC collectors have something big to look forward to this Fall:
STAR WARS: THE VINTAGE COLLECTION THE MANDALORIAN’S N-1 STARFIGHTER ($129.99)
This Republic-era handcrafted Naboo N-1 Starfighter has been extensively modified to be a truly one-of-a-kind vehicle for the Mandalorian and his foundling Grogu. Fans can celebrate the legacy of STAR WARS, the action-and-adventure-packed space saga from a galaxy far, far away with this premium 3.75-inch scale STAR WARS: THE VINTAGE COLLECTION THE MANDALORIAN’S N-1 STARFIGHTER and figures inspired by the ship’s and characters’ appearances in STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN. This vehicle and figure set features premium detail and design and highly articulated carded Mandalorian figure, a Grogu figure as well as packaging inspired by the original Kenner packaging and branding. Includes vehicle, figure with Grogu, droid socket, 2 stands and 5 entertainment-inspired accessories.
As I said, there’s a whole bunch to woohoo about here, especially as we’re getting much more than trooper repaints this time around. There’s a good variety here and and I’m eager to get my hands on just about all of these. Which newly revealed Star Wars toys are you excited about most?
Pre-orders for pretty much all of these will be going live on 4/11 at 1 pm ET.
