Toys/Collectibles
The Last Ronin Statue by PCS (Jordan) – If you’re shopping for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, you absolutely can’t go wrong with this STUNNING statue from PCS/Sideshow. Yes, it’s a bit pricey coming in at $1600 (there is a second version for only $800) but at ¼ scale and featuring all this gorgeous detail…if you’ve got the money for it, it’ll be something any collector would love.
Battle of Endor The Little Rebels (Jordan) – Part of Kotobukiya’s Artist line, this adorable looking statue perfectly captures the danger and cuteness of the Ewoks all at once. I love the style, and this would make an ideal show piece for Star Wars fans looking for something a little different.
Star Wars Lightsaber Forge Inquisitor Double-Bladed Electronic Lightsaber (Jordan) – Okay, so Hasbro’s super awesome looking Inquisitor Force FX Saber didn’t come to pass, but that doesn’t mean we have to be entirely without something Inquisitor related! Hasbro’s newest addition to the “Lightsaber Forge” line allows kids/fans the chance to relive the action of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Even better, as part of the Forge line, it’s pieces work with all of the Lightsaber Forge releases, so you can truly create your own unique Inquisitor blade.
Legacy Edition Darksaber Set (Jordan) – Few things are as cool as having a high quality Lightsaber replica, and Disney is offering one of the coolest ones around in the form of the Darksaber! This new version just launched from the DisneyShop and is part of their Legacy line of sabers (the fancy ones you’d find at the Disney Parks). It just looks damn cool. On top of glowing and making sounds it looks impressive even boxed up and sitting on display.
Pokemon Squishmallows (Becky) – Okay, technically the Pokemon Squishmallows haven’t been released yet, but it’s believed they’ll be out soon so they’re definitely something you’ll want to look out for in case they release before Christmas. Originally revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, the collection is currently very small, only consisting of Pikachu and Gengar, but given this is Pokemon we’re talking about, there’s no question the Pokemon Squishmallow collection will quickly grow. When they DO go on sale, the Pokemon Squishmallows will be available at PokemonCenter.com.
Ghost Trap Prop Replica Incense Cone Holder (s0leb) – Of course, one of the best series of Geek items to have for the holiday season is anything Ghostbusters themed. This Prop Ghost Trap Incense holder is the perfect gift for any haunted fan of the series! This is an item that I am actually buy and for that price I suggest you do the same!
Reading Material
The Art of Star Wars: Visions Deluxe Edition (Jordan) – Star Wars: Visions is still one of my favorite Star Wars things around, and this year has brought fans a handful of collectibles/toys related to it. If you enjoyed the show, or anime in general, this Art of book is all kinds of swanky. Sure, you could go for the regular edition (which also rules), but if you’re picking out a gift for someone, there’s a lot to love about this Deluxe version that includes a fancy slipcase and three lithographs.
Good Fiction
In the Shadow of LightningStar Wars: The High Republic – Path of Deceit
Trial of the Amazons (Becky) – I know we’re between Wonder Woman movies at the moment, but I thought the recently released hardcover copy of Trial of the Amazons would be a good gift idea to suggest. If you haven’t been following the Wonder Woman comics recently, this is a really good place to jump back in as the story presents a brand new era for Wonder Woman in more ways than one. We get acquainted with all of the Amazonian tribes, including those well known and those not-so well known and the story features some earth-shaking consequences both for Diana herself and the Amazons as a whole.
Star Wars: Inner Jedi Guided Journal (Becky) – Looking for a cool journal to motivate you in 2023? Or do you know a friend who really loves Star Wars and wants to learn more about the Force? You’re going to want to check out this Inner Jedi Guided Journal that’s being sold by Target. It’s a gorgeous hardcover book that’s filled with the wisdom of the Jedi and it looks like it came straight out of the Star Wars universe.
Batmobile Manual: Inside the Dark Knight’s Most Iconic Rides (Jordan) – This absolute TOME is an ideal gift for Batman fans or car enthusiasts in general. Over 400 pages, fans are treated to detailed information on Batman’s iconic vehicles from the films (all of them), video games, comics, and even animated series. It’s detailed and awesome.
Tech/Gadgets
XGIMI Horizon Pro Projector (Jordan) – XGIMI is one of the leaders out there in home projectors. From smaller portable options, to more compact devices that allow you to replace your whole TV if you want, they’re pretty awesome. Their latest model, the Horizon Pro takes all their impressive performance and kicks things up to the 4K level. If you’ve got a big movie fan on your list looking to upgrade, this is a great option.
EPOS Audio GTW 270 Hybrid – While these earbuds are technically built with gamers in mind, these are a very versatile wireless audio option. My favorite aspect of these is the fact it comes with a USB-C dongle, so you don’t have to mess with pairing/syncing and can simply plug it into any compatible device (including game consoles) and have great sound instantly.
VEIKK Studio’s VK2200 Pro Pen Display Tablet – If you’re shopping for an artist this Christmas, some sort of drawing tablet would be an ideal gift. Earlier this year I had the chance to review VEIKK’s new VK2200 model and it’s damn impressive. It’s a massive screen with quality to compete with Wacom, but at a significantly lower price.
DraftPour Beer Dispenser (s0leb) – Now this is a tech gift I can stand behind, the DraftPour Beer Dispenser literally changes any beer you have into a Draft beer. You can pull the lever for normal beer and push at the end for Nitro Foam to be dispensed! Whoever made this is a genius and should have their own national Holiday!
Fun and Miscellany
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Pandemic Game (Jordan) – Though I don’t get to play them as much as I would like to, I’ve always had a soft spot for tabletop games. Thanks to Asmodee, Star Wars fans have seen a BUNCH of them over the last couple years, including adapting already popular games to fit the theme. Getting in on the popular Pandemic gaming mechanics, I’m definitely eager to try out this Clone Wars game.
DIFF Star Wars Sunglasses (Jordan) – Sometimes you have Star Wars fans who aren’t exactly into the toys and other collectibles like that, but they still want to have some fun ways to show off their fandom. If you’re shopping for someone similar (or just think it’d be neat for them), DIFF has added a BUNCH of new character-themed sunglasses to their line of Star Wars eyewear.
In the Kitchen
Grogu Salt and Pepper Shaker
Little Sleepies Star Wars PJs (Jordan) – Okay, so technically Little Sleepies have a BUNCH of different pajamas (even blankets) to choose from to satisfy a variety of nerdy stuff. I, however, love their Star Wars designs and can personally attest to them being RIDICULOUSLY comfortable. Seriously, I don’t know how/why they’re so soft, but it’s awesome.
Thor’s Hammer Water Bottle (Jordan) – You gotta stay hydrated and what better way to remember that than by having a badass water bottle. This Thor’s Hammer shaped bottle packs in almost 2 liters of liquid, so there’s no way you’ll be thirsty with this.
Retro iMac Apple Watch Stand (Jordan) – This is something silly and fun, but also coming in under $15. So if you’re shopping for something simple, or even some stocking stuffers, this retro-themed Apple Watch stand/charger is a great choice. Definitely something for Apple fans and older geeks!
Pokemon Puma Sneakers (Becky) – You heard me right, Pokemon themed Puma sneakers are soon to be a thing and they are a must-buy gift for any fan of Pokemon. The collection comes in kids and adult sizes and is officially going on sale starting November 12 with prices ranging from $30 to $130. The collection currently features designs inspired by Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle (the original Kanto starters), as well as Pikachu and Gengar. The Puma x Pokemon collection will be available at PUMA.com, the PUMA NYC flaghsip store, Foot Locker, Kid’s Foot Locker, and Champs.
Anything from iam8Bit! (s0leb) – What else is there to say other than iAm8Bit is amazing! From some of the best Collectors Editions, to Vinyl Soundtracks, and more iam8Bit is a fantastic company that will bring joy to anyone you are gifting, gamer or geek alike!
We hope our annual gift guides have been helpful to you this year so far. Happy hunting and good luck with all your nerdy Christmas shopping this year!
