Prepare Your Wallets, The Force Awakens Merchandise Officially Hits on September 4th

We all know that I’m looking forward to the new Star Wars movie, but if you’ve read any of my other articles on StarWars.com, you’ll know that I’m a HUGE toy collector, and have been anticipating new movie toys almost as much as the film itself.  While Star Wars Day isn’t until tomorrow, the official site has given fans an early treat with the announcement of the product launch for The Force Awakens merchandise.  Talk about something awesome to wake up to!

StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that Star Wars: The Force Awakens products will land in our galaxy on September 4, 2015, at 12:01 a.m. — “Force Friday” — with stores around the world opening their doors at midnight for a special celebration of all things Star Wars. It will be a day long remembered.

September 4th has been the rumored launch date for a while now, so it’s nice to get that confirmation on the date and that Midnight Madness events will be happening in stores!  I remember doing these events for the prequels and I can’t wait to experience that again…I’m just not entirely sure that my wallet is ready for such an undertaking.  More than just the release date, the official packaging has been revealed too.

The Force Awakens Toy Package

I love it.  Villains have always worked well on the movie line of toys (Darth Vader and then Maul), so it’s nice to see that continue with the sequel films as Kylo Ren looks incredibly badass on the front.  It’s going to be an amazing day, but if you’re trying to avoid spoilers, I think you’re going to have a hard time.  The floodgates are about to be open, and while not every plot detail will be revealed via toys, there’s going to be some secrets out there.  Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on new characters in toy form.

Will any of you guys be out there for some Force Friday midnight madness on September 4th?
