Kong: Survivor Instinct Announced

Early this week, a brand new Monsterverse game was revealed with Kong: Survivor Instinct. Taking place after the events of Godzilla vs Kong, the game puts you in the shows of a father trying to locate his missing daughter among the aftermath of the Titan attack.

Embark on a thrilling quest of survival in a city that’s become a battleground for Titans in the official Monsterverse licensed console game Kong: Survivor Instinct, launching later this fall.
Kong: Survivor Instinct is set shortly after the events of 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, players will navigate a shattered city, confront Kong in all his glory, and encounter new and returning Titans and superspecies, including the first on-screen appearance of the terrifying Titan, Abaddon. And much more.

Kong: Survivor Instinct is set to hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PCs this Fall.

First Trailer for Horror Comedy, Y2K

This week brought our first look at Kyle Mooney’s upcoming horror/comedy film for A24: Y2K. As someone who was a teen during that period of time, it’s wild to see so much nostalgia packed into this trailer. It looks all kinds of ridiculous and absurd, which is exactly how it should be.

On the last night of 1999, two high school juniors crash a New Years Eve party, only to find themselves fighting for their lives in this dial-up disaster comedy.

Y2K hits theaters on December 6, 2024.

Official Trailer for Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis Revealed

This week brought the first real trailer for Coppola’s new epic, Megalopolis. Then they pulled it because it turned out the quotes at the beginning were entirely made up…But the trailer is still kicking around on other places!

MEGALOPOLIS is a Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver), a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor’s daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.

Megalopolis hits theaters on September 27, 2024.

Watch 25 Minutes of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Gameplay

During Gamescom 2024, Warhorse Studios revealed the first look at gameplay for the upcoming Kingdom Come: Deliverance sequel, thanks to a lengthy showcase:

Experience a true RPG experience – with authentic first person combat and an epic cinematic story – as you live life through the eyes and actions of Henry, a young man on a quest to avenge his murdered parents.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on February 11, 2025.

First Trailer for LEGO Pixar: Bricktoons

Pixar and LEGO have teamed up together for a new series of animated shorts on Disney+ that gives some of your favorite Pixar characters a brick makeover.

Join some of your favorite LEGO Pixar characters for all-new adventures! Sing along with Miguel in the Land of the Dead, help Merida and her brothers through a beary rocky situation, take an epic field trip with Nemo, Marlin, and Dory, watch the Parr family try to save their neighborhood from Syndrome, and join Mater as he prepares Lightning McQueen for his next big race!

The Wizard of Oz 85th Anniversary Theater Edition 4K Revealed

Warner Bros. announced a 4K re-release for The Wizard of Oz as the film celebrates it’s 85th anniversary. This will include previously released special features, and gives you a chance to snag the 4K version of the film in case you missed it the last time!

The 85th Anniversary Theater Edition includes a 4K UHD disc of the film, a Blu-ray disc of the film and a digital code, along with commemorative steelbook packaging, a reproduction of the original program, a reproduction of the film’s premiere invitation, reproductions of 8 original lobby cards, reproductions of 2 original poster cards, and a reproduction of the film’s original movie ticket.

 

Adapted from L. Frank Baum’s timeless children’s tale about a Kansas girl’s journey over the rainbow, The Wizard of Oz officially premiered at Grauman’s Chinese Theater on August 15, 1939. The film was directed by Victor Fleming (who that same year directed Gone With the Wind), produced by Mervyn LeRoy, and scored by Herbert Stothart, with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. Ray Bolger appeared as the Scarecrow; Bert Lahr as the Cowardly Lion, Jack Haley as the Tin Woodman. Frank Morgan was seen in six different roles, including that of the “wonderful Wizard” himself. Dorothy was portrayed by a 4’11” sixteen-year-old girl who quickly earned her reputation as “the world’s greatest entertainer”– the incomparable Judy Garland.

The Wizard of Oz 85th Anniversary 4K arrives on November 5, 2024.

Dragon Age Narrative Podcast Coming This Month

As Dragon Age: The Veilguard‘s release date inches closer, fans have a brand new, eight-part, narrative series to help fill the waiting. Bioware announced Dragon Age: Vows and Vengeance will premiere an August 29th. Subscribe now so you don’t miss out!

First Look at Batman: Arkham Shadow Gameplay

The VR entry in the Batman: Arkham game series got its first look at gameplay during Gamescom 2024. Batman: Arkham Shadow will launch exclusively on the Meta Quest 3 in October.

The game puts you in the first-person shoes of Bruce Wayne, voiced by Roger Craig Smith, and players will explore the iconic Gotham decked out with the Bat’s equally iconic tech like the Batarang and the Grapnel Gun. You’ll also be able to tap into your Detective Vision to see enemies through walls, along with usable and useful objects in the world around you.

The reveal also included a look at more of the voice acting cast, which will also include Troy Baker as Harvey Dent, Tara Strong as Dr. Harleen Quinzel, Mark Rolston as James Gordon, Khary Payton as Otis Flannagan, Earl Baylon as Lyle Bolton, Chelsea Kane as Barbara Gordon, and Martin Jarvis as Alfred Pennyworth.
