Tales of the Shire Promises a Cozy Middle-earth Game in 2024

Wētā Workshop and Private Division have announced my 2024 Game of the Year with Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game.

To celebrate “Hobbit Day” in New Zealand, Wētā Workshop and Private Division announced a new The Lord of the Rings video game set to arrive next year. While details are scarce at this point, I’m nonetheless excited for Tales of the Shire:

Wētā Workshop and Private Division have teased Tales of the Shire, an upcoming cosy The Lord of the Rings game set in the Middle-earth universe inspired by the books of J.R.R. Tolkien due out in 2024 on console and PC.

My love of “cozy games” (or farm/life sims) is well documented, with the recently released Fae Farm still getting tons of play time. Getting one set in the world of Middle-earth just seems like a match made in Heaven and I can’t wait to learn more. Seriously, getting to play as a Hobbit on the Shire and do nothing but farm, sing/party, and make merry sounds perfect.

No release date (or any other details), but Tales of the Shire is currently set to launch in 2024.
