Nintendo has announced exactly when the Switch Online + Expansion Pack (bringing N64 and Genesis games) will arrive, including how much it costs.
While the pricing details for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack were snuck into the tail end of the Animal Crossing Direct, they’ve released a new trailer detailing all the benefits of the new program as well as the pricing to expect when it launches on October 25th:
So $50 a year for a single account, and $80 for the family plan. While it seems steep, considering the wealth of stuff you’ll be getting (including the Animal Crossing DLC that’s $25 on its own), it’s really not too terrible. Hopefully they’ll be doing more DLC this way, adding to the value all around.
Current Switch Online subscribers can make the upgrade for a pro-rated rate, so you won’t have to pay it all again unless you’re at the end of your current renewal.
