New Trailer Released for ‘Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy’ Video Game

Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy, the 2D bullet hell action Touhou Project fan game published by Phoenixx and developed by GAMEPULSE, launches on Nintendo Switch this year.

When the mysterious Nightmare Miko kidnaps the princess of the Misty Lake, only Cirno, the Hero of Ice, can save her on a rescue mission across the Tokyo-esque Gensokyo. Board the Bunny Train and travel through beloved Touhou locales such as the Silent Village, Kapparena, and more to gather allies and free the princess. There may be more to this mysterious kidnapping than meets the eye…

Fire a continuous stream of bullet hell attacks against airborne enemies. Dash, dodge, and float in all directions to avoid incoming waves of colorful-yet-deadly laser beams, falling stars, and giant moons. Plan a path through waves of projectiles while keeping an eye on Cirno’s stamina meter as it drains with each advanced movement.

Successive strikes against opponents build up Cirno’s Courage Meter, which multiplies damage on every hit. Build up strength to topple Nightmare Miko’s fierce fairies, ghoulish ghosts, and magical creatures obstructing the princess’ freedom, and advance through each opponent’s battle stages to unlock new spells and items.

Deliver a bullet hell beatdown to the jazzy lo-fi tunes of each boss’s unique theme. Turn up the Bunny Train’s jukebox to favorite tracks, from remixes of Touhou Project songs to Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy’s original music. Progress through the story in Arcade mode, hone skills in Practice Mode, or take on each boss again in Challenge Mode.

Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy is the perfect pick-up-and-play title, with gameplay that compliments the portability of the Nintendo Switch,” says GAMEPULSE. “The response on PC has been overwhelming. It’s been an honor to represent the Touhou community with our creation and bring it to a new platform.

Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy launches on Nintendo Switch in 2024, with support in English and Simplified Chinese.
