A deeper look at Max’s growing powers in Life is Strange: Double Exposure was revealed during the Xbox broadcast at Gamescom 2024.
During the Gamescom 2024 Xbox Broadcast, SQUARE ENIX®released an exclusive deep-dive video into the powers that drive Max’s investigation of the supernatural murder mystery at the heart of LIFE IS STRANGE: DOUBLE EXPOSURE. The game will launch on Xbox Series X|S consoles, PlayStation 5®, and PC via Steam and Windows Store on Oct. 29, 2024. It is also coming to Nintendo Switch at a later date.
In addition to exploring Max Caulfield’s newly evolved power to Shift between two parallel timelines, the deep dive also focused on her new Pulse ability. Pulse allows Max to glimpse the opposite timeline before jumping through, since danger isn’t limited to just one timeline. With Pulse, Max can also overhear conversations happening on the other side, which is the perfect supernatural tool for an amateur sleuth.
Max will need to use both aspects of her new power to solve her friend Safi’s impossible murder. As Max Shifts back and forth between two increasingly different timelines, her power allows the player to complete unique puzzles, navigate complex campus social dynamics and explore all the mysteries that Caledon University has to offer.
