Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for Wonka starring Timothée Chalamet as one of the greatest candy-makers to ever appear in a story.
After many teases and glimpses, we finally have our first look at the official trailer for Wonka, the prequel that reveals how Willy Wonka became the famous chocolate maker we know him to be in Roald Dahl’s books. The film is currently scheduled to be released on December 15, 2023. Fans of the 1971 film with Gene Wilder will recognize a number of Easter Eggs in this trailer, which bodes well as that film remains beloved to this day for a reason.

The film is described as follows:
This irresistibly vivid and inventive big screen spectacle will introduce audiences to a young Willy Wonka, chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time—proving that the best things in life begin with a dream, and if you’re lucky enough to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible.
I was initially skeptical of a prequel film about Willy Wonka of all characters, but having seen the trailer, I have to admit this film definitely has potential. It looks beautiful, and Timothée Chalamet looks picture perfect as a young Wonka.
Wonka releases to theaters on December 15, 2023.
