Venom: The Last Dance Trailer Teases New Symbiote Threat

Sony Pictures has revealed the first official trailer for the third—and supposedly final—Venom film, The Last Dance.

We’re staring down the end of a Venom trilogy. Words, I honestly never thought I’d say. In some ways, it’s exciting to see how this goofy series has managed to succeed even without Spider-Man. Sure, it’s definitely frustrating to think of what could have been, but the films have managed to be fun popcorn flicks. I don’t expect much more from The Last Dance, but there’s some interesting things going on in this first trailer:

On the whole, I’m digging it. I like the idea of expanding the scope, while keeping the focus on the dynamic between Eddie and Venom. That said, this trailer feels a little…disjointed. It’s kind of all over the place, and despite being nearly three minutes long, doesn’t give a great sense of the general story. I can’t lie, though, that Symbiote horse rules.

In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.

Venom: The Last Dance stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham. The film is directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she wrote, based on a story by Hardy and Marcel. The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy and Hutch Parker.

Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on October 25, 2024.
