Director David F. Sandberg, from Shazam!, is going back to horror for this adaptation.
Produced by PlayStation Productions and Screen Gems, all falling under Sony Productions, Until Dawn will be heading to the big screen. David F. Sandberg, who has been directing the superhero franchise Shazam, will be directing. Screenwriter of It, The Nun, and my favorite Annabelle, Gary Dauberman, will be writing.
Until Dawn is already basically a movie as it stands with quick time events that direct the cast in new directions, with varying endings that can happen based on the players decisions. It’ll be interesting which horror aspect the film makers decide to take since Until Dawn had several within the game. The game also focuses on an all-star cast, but the film is set to include an “ensemble cast” too.
There is currently no slated release date or details about the film, but the studio promises it will be a “R-rated love story to horror.”
