HBO has released some brand new information about their hit show, The Last of Us, just yesterday. Not only have they graced us with some striking new promotional posters featuring the primary protagonists, they’ve given us something to look forward to: An actual release date.
The seven-episode second season of HBO’s Emmy®-winning original drama series The Last of Us debuts Sunday, April 13 at 9:00p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on Max. Taking place five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.
Season 1 of The Last of Us proved to the world that serious adaptations of video game narratives were, indeed, possible to create. We were treated to a series of episodes that not only faithfully reinterpreted Joel and Ellie’s physical and emotional journeys, but also introduced new ideas and elements that further explored the setting and filled out the stories of characters that were little more than names on a page in the original game.
We’re very excited to see the showrunners and writers continue that good work leading into the next season! Read on for more information about The Last of Us season 2:
