Game of Thrones star Rory McCann will replace late actor Ray Stevenson in the second season of Ahsoka, according to Hollywood Reporter. McCann is known for his role as Sandor Clegane, a skilled warrior nicknamed The Hound.
Stevenson, who played Baylan Skol in the Star Wars series on Disney+, died at the age of 58 in May 2023. The first season of Ahsoka premiered in August 2023 and included a dedication to the longtime actor.
He was also known for his roles in Punisher: War Zone, Kill the Irishman, the Thor series, Dexter, as the voice of Gar Saxon in Star Wars: Clone Wars and Rebels, and many more.
Rory McCann was recently General Tegula in Gladiator II and is known for other roles in films like Hot Fuzz, Jumanji: The Next Level, and as the voice of Megatron in Transformers: EarthSpark and Duke Vedmire in The Legend of Vox Machina, among many other roles.
The series is written by Dave Filoni and stars Rosario Dawson, Lars Mikkelsen, Ivanna Sakhno, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Diana Lee Inosanto, and more. Ahsoka won the 2024 Emmy Award for Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes and was a nominee for four other award categories.
