Netflix finally announced the release date for Stranger Things season four, revealing a “super sized” two-part season, along with confirmation of a fifth—final—season.
Fans eagerly awaiting the return of Eleven and her pals, now have a pair of dates to mark on their calendars. After dropping a handful of posters, Netflix ultimately revealed that season four will be split in TWO parts with Volume 1 dropping on May 27th and Volume 2 on July 1st!
The reason for the split, is due to the fact that each episode is “super-sized” and the season itself is TWICE as long as season three. That’s a WHOLE lot of Stranger Things dropping this Summer, and will set the stage with new/old characters for one final season.
That’s right, Netflix also announced the show will return for a fifth season…which will be its last. While they tease there could be some spin-offs/future stories set within the same world, the story of Eleven, Will, Nancy, Steve, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas will be over with.
While this chapter is coming to an end, the Duffers believe there are more new adventures and stories to be told. pic.twitter.com/3OGCjXR2Db

I can’t wait. Stranger Things has been so fun, filled with great characters and overall lore. While some might have been growing bored with it, I’m eager to see where they take the story next.
