Star Wars Celebration 2023 kicks off today and Lucasfilm brought fans a little bit of news regarding Leslye Headland’s live-action series, The Acolyte.
Just ahead of this morning’s Star Wars Celebration kick-off panel, the Studio Showcase, Lucasfilm treated attendees to some The Acolyte goodness! Fans inside the building were treated to a quick teaser of The Acolyte (which I doubt will make it online but is out there for you to find if you look hard enough) and it absolutely sounds incredible.
As we know, the show takes place between The High Republic and Prequels, putting the focus on the villains this time around, but features a whole gaggle of Jedi and martial arts action. Though the rest of us won’t likley see the teaser, we do get a fancy new logo (above) to ooh and ahh over.
It’s a curious departure from the original, which featured a Lightsaber slash, but it’s intriguing none the less. On top of that, Lucasfilm also confirmed filming will wrap on the series next month and is set to debut in 2024. Pretty much since it’s announcement, this has been my most anticipated Star Wars project. In the time since, everything I’ve seen/heard has only increased that hype. I think they’ve got something special cooking here.
