Official Teaser for Horror Anime Mini-Series ‘Uzumaki’ Revealed at SDCC Panel

Fans got their first look at the adaptation of Junji Ito’s Uzumaki at San Diego Comic Con and it is not for the faint of heart.

As part of the panel for the Rick and Morty anime at SDCC, it was also revealed that the long awaited anime adaptation of Junji Ito’s Uzumaki will be premiering on Adult Swim’s Toonami on September 28, 2024, as well as being available on Max.

The four part mini-series was originally expected all the way back in 2020 and after a series of delays it’s finally arriving this year. Along with this news came an official teaser hinting at the horrors to come.

A brief warning before hitting play: if Junji Ito’s style bothers you, you might want to skip this particular teaser.

Uzumaki is set in a town where strange occurrences begin to happen after a mysterious spiral shape begins to appear everywhere.

  • Abby Trott / Uki Satake as Kirie Goshima
  • Robbie Daymond / Shinichirō Miki as Shuichi Saito
  • Cristina Vee / Mariya Ise as Azami Kurotani
