Earlier this week, Paramount+ announced that the official trailer for Halo The Series would debut during the NFL’s AFC Championship game. True to their word, a new trailer debuted, giving viewers an extended look at the series, and revealing a premiere date of March 24, 2022.
In a war for humanity’s very survival, our deadliest weapon is our greatest hope. See Master Chief, Cortana, the Covenant, and the other Spartans of Silver Team more in this epic trailer for the new Paramount+ Original Series, Halo. Find the Halo, win the war.
Perhaps it’s the purest in me, but this trailer didn’t sell me on the series as much as I hoped it would. The effects look fine (except for the weird realistic version of Cortana) and the action seems cool, but I’m not feeling Master Chief’s depiction, just yet. It could be the voice or the mannerisms, maybe even the lines Pablo Schreiber is given, but whatever it is, I’m not yet sold on the lead character.
Despite these criticisms, Halo The Series has a lot of promise. It seems to follow a similar arc to that of the original Halo game, with Master Chief taking on the Covenant and ultimately locating the Halo rings. It also appears as if he’ll be fighting a battle with his creators, as the trailer suggests he’ll be liberating other Spartans.
Halo The Series premieres exclusively on Paramount+ March 24, 2022. The series stars Pablo Schreiber (the Master Chief, Spartan John-117), Natascha McElhone (Dr. Halsey), Jen Taylor (Cortana), Bokeem Woodbine (Soren-066), Shabana Azmi (Admiral Margaret Parangosky), Natasha Culzac (Riz-028), Olive Gray (Miranda Keyes), Yerin Ha (Kwan Ha Boo), Bentley Kalu (Vannak-134), Kate Kennedy (Kai-125), Charlie Murphy (Makee) and Danny Sapani (Captain Jacob Keyes).
