It’s been reported that the Game of Thrones spin-off and prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has started production. The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s novella “The Hedge Knight” and will follow the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his squire Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). For those keeping track of the timeline, this series is set 100 years before Game of Thrones and 100 years after the currently airing House of the Dragon.

Along with the news of the series entering production came the news that five more actors have joined the cast, including: Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country), Bertie Carvel (The Crown), Tanzyn Crawford (Tiny Beautiful Things), Daniel Ings (Sex Education) and Sam Spruell (Fargo).

According to this news, Bennett will playing Prince Aerion Targaryen; Carvel will be Prince Baelor Targaryen; Spruell will be Prince Maekar Targaryen; Ings will be Ser Lyonel Baratheon; and Crawford will be playing a puppeteer named Tanselle.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is described as follows:

“A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”
