Legendary Entertainment Developing ‘Pacific Rim’ Prequel Series

A Pacific Rim prequel series is in the works according to a new report.

It was exclusively reported by Variety that Legendary Entertainment is currently working on a number of projects with Eric Heisserer. The first project to be worked on under this deal is a Pacific Rim prequel series that would be set before the events of the original film.

The original Pacific Rim was released in 2013 while its sequel Pacific Rim Uprising was released in 2018. Both were set in a future where humans were battling massive Kaiju monsters with the help of giant mechas known as Jaegers.

Aside from being a prequel, there’s currently no other news on what this new Pacific Rim series would cover.
